Sterling silver, acrylic and glass pendant. Designed and made to order in our Sydney studio.
The sterling silver pendant semi-circle is textured while still wax. It is then cast in sterling silver using lost wax technique.
Hand engraved in our Sydney studio with a star pattern, the black acrylic frames a glass cabochon handmade in our Sydney studio, which is then placed inside the sterling silver frame, before being assembled with sterling silver chain.
The glass cabochon is set using a specially developed system inspired by the stone setting technique "bezel setting". The pressure created by the acrylic holds the glass in place, without the use of glue or any other material. In turn the sterling silver body of the pendant holds the acrylic circle using the same basic pressure principle.
The acrylic is laser engraved on the back with JOAO VAZ.
